About Us

A private, independent house for wealth management.

Albrech & Cie. Vermögensverwaltung Aktiengesellschaft was established in Köln to offer a smaller number of clients a more considered form of portfolio management — one adviser, one mandate, one clear line of accountability.

Our history

Built on a single idea.

The firm was founded in 2005 by a small group of advisers who believed that portfolio management had become too transactional and too dependent on product sales. Albrech & Cie. was structured instead around independent advice, documented process and long-term client relationships.

Today the firm operates from Breite Straße in Köln, serving private clients, families and institutions who value discretion, a clear investment policy and regular, plain-language reporting over promotional promises.

Our principles

What guides every mandate.

  • Independence

We are not tied to any custodian, insurer or product provider, and we accept no third-party commissions.

  • Documentation

Every mandate is written down: objective, constraints, risk tolerance and review cycle, agreed before any capital is invested.

  • Transparency

Statements explain performance, cost and positioning in language a client can actually use.

  • Patience

We favour a long horizon over short-term positioning, and say so plainly when a request runs against that principle.

  • Continuity

Each client is served by a named adviser, so the relationship does not depend on any single transaction.

  • Restraint

We say no to mandates that do not fit our process, rather than adapt the process to fit every request.

Governance

Structured as an Aktiengesellschaft.

Albrech & Cie. Vermögensverwaltung Aktiengesellschaft is organised under German company law as an AG, with a supervisory board separate from day-to-day management. This structure is intended to keep oversight of client mandates independent from the advisers who execute them.

The firm maintains internal policies on conflicts of interest, data protection and risk management, and reviews them on a regular cycle together with external counsel.
